There was an internal plumbing or pipe mystery noise at night that was awakening one of our apartment owners and the Principal of Butler Plumbing, Andrew Butler himself, came here at all hours of the night to find the problem. Extremely sensitive to the important heritage issues…
Butler Plumbing is a very professional and responsive operation and I am totally happy with the service they provide. In particular, in heritage listed properties like the neo-Romanesque Majorca Building in Flinders Lane (in the Melbourne CBD), Butler Plumbing has been extremely sensitive to the important heritage issues that they face when doing maintenance plumbing. They are also very good to work with in challenging situations where multiple owners are involved and where different parties sometimes have different ideas about how the work should be carried out. I am always happy to call on Butler Plumbing because I know they will get the job done and they will do it professionally.
Meets all our expectations…
In running a major hotel where the emphasis is on outstanding service for our guests, we need a reliable plumbing company that is geared to respond to our needs. Butler Plumbing meets all our expectations – I work closely with them and find them to be responsive and flexible. Recently, they upgraded 181 bathrooms for us and this major project ran very smoothly. Everything they said they would do, they did. And when suddenly I had to tell them a room was unexpectedly not available, they had the flexibility to manage that without a problem. As a very professional operation, Butler Plumbing does an excellent job for us.
A faulty gasheater is repaired and hundreds of dollars saved…
We contacted Andrew and Butler Plumbing to look at our faulty gas heater and if possible, look at our gas fireplace.
Over the last few years, we’ve had a number of different gas fitters/plumbers look at our external gas-heating unit as we could smell gas escaping. We were obviously concerned with the potential of a leak.
On 3 separate occasions we were informed that the issue had to do with our unit, that it was old and that ultimately we would need to spend a few thousand dollars to replace the unit. They temporarily fixed the unit to keep us going through the winter period, but encouraged us to change the unit.
We were never ultimately convinced that this was the case, so continued to search for a solution. This year, we decided that it was time to spend the dollars and change the unit, so we asked Butler Plumbing to take a look.
On the day, Butler plumbing were on time, very professional, asked us what we’ve been told in the past and what we understood to be the issue before they went off and investigated. To our surprise – thankfully – we were informed that the unit did not need to be replaced and that it was a leak, which could easily be fixed. And they did just that!
We then explained the issue with our gas fireplace, whereby the installer could not get the gas unit working due to the parts not being correct for the unit we purchased. Butler plumbing gave us a curious look and within 5 minutes of investigating the issue, also confirmed that they could fix this too. And they did!
This was fantastic! Butler plumbing saved us $1000’s of dollars!! They were on time, professional, made no mess – they even remembered to lock the back gate when they left! What a great experience!

A plumber who cleans up after themselves…
Butler Plumbing were great. They were on time and the plumber very experienced (and he cleaned up!). I really appreciate that they tried at all times to ensure that I knew what was going on. Good communication is so important when you rely on an external expert. Highly recommended.

Go-anywhere approach…
We have been using Butler Plumbing since the year 2000 for the full range of plumbing services including all sorts of emergency jobs as well as preventative maintenance. I especially like the ‘go-anywhere’ approach of Butler Plumbing. I have clients all over Melbourne from Frankston to Werribee to Berwick. They did not let us down…
For our three Melbourne stores we always call on Butler Plumbing for all plumbing maintenance. I have been here for more than two years now and I have always found them to be completely reliable and very responsive. And when we have launched new stores, they have very efficiently done the total plumbing outfitting for us. There was even one occasion when we engaged Butler Plumbing to fly to Sydney for a particularly challenging plumbing job – and they did not let us down.
A leaking roof drops into the lounge room…
After returning home from breakfast on a Saturday morning in February this year, I was confronted with barrage of soaked shattered plasterboard and pink bats on my lounge room floor. Bubbles and curvature from the weight of the water created a potential disaster. A one-metre circular hole in my roof was a result of storm damage from torrential rain that was relentless from the night before.
Andrew Butler was the first person I thought of to save the day as he had previously been reliable and extremely effective by resolving our plumbing issues. He arrived within the hour, investigated the cause and source of the leak and immediately began to mend the almost invisible puncture in my roof.
Andrew also identified bubbles forming from the collection of water away from the distressed section of the lounge room and attended to these immediately. Andrew lifted us out of our distressed mood as he exuded a self-confidence and reassured us that the problem was now under control. What a relief!
Over the next few weeks, Andrew and his efficient team at Butler Plumbing arrived at the property to adjust the gutters and spent much time and expertise remoulding sections of the gutters with leak proof material. The RACV storm damage assessors commended Andrew’s work and approved my claim.
I know I can always rely on Andrew and his team from Butler Plumbing and would highly recommend his services.

I’m reasonably handy but obviously plumbing is a step too far, so on a recommendation I called in Butler Plumbing. They were able to fit me in within a couple of days and were prompt and efficient. Josh explained what needed to be done and his initial estimate of the time it would take and the approximate cost was almost spot on. Knowing the hourly rate up front helped me keep control of the job. Very happy with the job and the service.

It is extremely challenging to find excellent tradies these days let alone just a good one. I have to say Butler plumbing are excellent.
Andrew, jenny and the team have always been quick to respond to any of our plumbing needs. They are reliable, efficient, and always happy to fit in around our schedule. One of the things that impressed us the most is how the guys always clean up after themselves, and leave the job site with no mess.
